Senate OKs toughening bankruptcy laws
From: NewsTrove.com
"WASHINGTON - The Senate on Thursday passed sweeping changes in the nation's bankruptcy laws.
Stringent new standards would require tens of thousands of people who seek bankruptcy protection to repay at least part of what they owe and make it harder for them to wipe away their debts. The Senate voted 74-25 to pass the bill, and it is expected to pass in the House. President Bush has identified the changes as one of his top legislative priorities this year."

The Google Browser
From: NewsTrove.com
"Google is probably developing its own web browser. Pandia argues why.
(January 31 2005) Google continues to deny it, but the rumor mill is very active. So, is Google going to develop its own Google browser?
The browser as a search tool
Well, it certainly makes sense. The popularity of toolbars and web browser search fields has amply demonstrated that many searchers use these forms when searching the web.
It is after all, much simpler to fill in a form or a search field that is already on your screen than to go to the home page of the relevant search engine and do your search from there."
Robyn's memory lives on by helping so many
From: NewsTrove.com
"British doctors said they couldn't save her but her parents, Garry and Karen, refused to give up hope and set up an appeal to raise money so she could go to New York to receive what was described as revolutionary treatement.
There were times when it seemed Robyn was winning the fight, but finally she succumbed and died with Garry and Karen at her bedside.
Poignantly, Karen found out she was pregnant the same day and baby Sasha was born in October.
Robyn's memory lives on - and so does the Robyn Brooks Appeal, which is now helping other children."
Cleburne News - Standing up for Social Security
From: NewsTrove.com
"Standing up for Social Security
03-10-2005
While almost everyone agrees that steps must be taken to strengthen Social Security for the future, many, including AARP Alabama, will work to ensure that the retirement security of older Americans is not needlessly put at risk.
We will vigorously oppose the creation of private accounts that take money out of Social Security. Taking some of the money that workers pay into the system and diverting it into newly created private accounts would weaken Social Security and put benefits for current and future generations at risk."
