RealMoney.com: In Defense of Cyclicals, Part 1
From: www.thestreet.com
"Cyclicals often get a bum rap in portfolio management. They don't fit the received wisdom that often is taught by value investors who focus on price-to-earnings ratios, and growth investors won't touch them because their earnings are erratic. The share price for a cyclical company often is highest when its pricing power is the greatest and its earnings are high, leading to a low P/E. The reverse is true when pricing power is weak: The P/E is high while the stock price is low. The P/E of a cyclical company will give a counterintuitive signal about when the stock is cheap or pricey."
Israel to make major West Bank investment
From: www.wixt.com
"Israel to make major West Bank investment
Last Update: 4/19/2004 9:13:33 AM
(Jerusalem-AP) -- Israel's former prime minister says the country is planning a multi (m) million-dollar investment in the West Bank.
Benjamin Netanyahu, who is now finance minister, says tens of (m) millions will be invested in West Bank settlements, even as Israel plans to pull out of Gaza and some other parts of the West Bank.
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has proposed removing all settlements in Gaza, as well as several in the West Bank, and rapidly completing a separation barrier Israel is building in the West Bank."
