Alexander City Outlook - alexcityoutlook.com
From: www.alexcityoutlook.com
"Who would have thought bird watching would bring in more revenue than golf?
It may be hard to believe, but according to the 2000 U.S. Census, Americans spent more money on watching wildlife than they did playing golf or other recreational sports. An estimated $626 million was spent on wildlife watching activities in Alabama in 2001, and $80 million of that was trip-related expenses.
If birding watching activities can bring in that much money in just one year, it makes sense for the Lake Martin area to join in on the Central Alabama Birding Trail.
The birding trail would include 22 counties with anywhere from 50 to 75 sites."
The Conservative Party of Canada
From: www.canadianalliance.ca
"TORONTO, ON - Conservative Party leader Stephen Harper today proposed supplementing Canadians' registered retirement savings plans with a new Registered Lifetime Savings Plan (RLSP).
Available to all Canadians, the plan would especially benefit low- and modest-income earners who often face burdensome taxes when cashing in their RRSPs upon retirement.
"RRSPs are a very popular savings and investment option, and with good reason," said Harper. "But while people save on taxes when they invest in them, too often they end up paying even higher taxes when they cash them in."

"I claim no particular expertise regarding India. Still, I strongly suspect that economic liberalism will continue mostly unabated. This genie will not go back into the bottle willingly. It seems to me that the consensus opinion of its citizens is scornful of socialism. By the way, speaking of why some people might hate the United Stateswe did enormous damage during the Kennedy administration by sending John Kenneth Galbraith to serve as our ambassador to India."
