AUSTRALIANS will enjoy strong economic growth, which will peak at an annual growth rate of 3.6 per cent by 2005-06, a report into the national economy has found.
The Melbourne Institute-Mercer Quarterly Bulletin of Economic Trends predicts annual GDP will average 3.1 per cent in 2004-05 this financial year before climbing to 3.6 per cent the following year.
Painting a rosy picture for the economy, the report predicts inflation will move down slightly to 2.3 per cent, with investment and consumption picking up."
