The revelations prompted wide debate about the Greens, whose recent polling indicates they might win the balance of power in the Senate in the new Parliament.
The Greens' other controversial proposals include a push to make Australians eat less meat but ride bicycles more frequently. They advocate higher taxes and new ones, such as inheritance taxes.
But Senator Brown appeared unaware of the Greens' own platform while lashing out at the Prime Minister's tough-on-drugs policy."

"It was a race to see who could get farthest to the right at Thursday's night forum as 58th District State Assembly candidates Pat Strachota and Rick Karshna presented their cases.
City Hall Council Chambers was packed to capacity as police maintained the room's maximum - 152 seated and 35 standing - with overflow crowd watching it from TVs outside the room. Most were likely in attendance to hear from Glenn Grothman and Mary Panzer, running for state Senate.
Karshna went on the offensive from the opening statements, ripping Strachota's voting record while on the Washington County Board."

Bellingham voters are one step closer to deciding whether they want to pay more property tax to support emergency medical service.
The seven-member City Council voted 6-0 Monday to put the issue on the ballot. Bob Ryan abstained, saying he wanted to read an additional 15 pages he had just received of a recent study commissioned by the city that recommends restructuring the fire department. A consultant distributed the pages last week, but Ryan said he had not yet seen them.
As a matter of process, the council will have to vote again on the measure during its next meeting, Sept. 13."
