The new budget, yet to be approved by the outgoing Cabinet and the Parliament, calls for sweeping reforms in overstaffed public departments.
One of the biggest surprises in the new draft budget was a clause calling for the elimination of the Ministry of the Displaced, the Council of the South and the state security apparatus.

After the votes were counted, Superintendent Walter Mahler pulled a cigar from his jacket pocket and said, "Perhaps this is an indication," to a packed school board meeting Tuesday night.
The gesture was met with a roomful of applause.
Bridgewater taxpayers carried the question, 2,278 votes to 1,572, while Raritan Borough taxpayers defeated it, 309 to 176."

Hi, I'm a bit confused by the way margin is handled.
If I have a margin account worth 10000 in cash, and I dump 15000 into a stock, then sell that stock for 20000, do I have a capital gain of 10000 or 5000? Thanks.

to expand on this a bit, let me give an example that more closely mirrors my situation.
lets say i buy a stock for 10000 in cash and 5000 in margin for 15000 total. I sell at 16000. I've made a profit of 1000."
